There are two ways of repairing a decaying tooth, one by filling and other by crowning. It is important to know the difference between the two before going for a treatment. The former is good for small area of decay. There are various advantages of undergoing this treatment. Firstly, it can be done in one appointment and secondly it is less expensive than the latter one. However, filling does not last long for years and it is a drawback for the same. The latter one is best suited for those teeth that have been injured or decayed. It reduces the surface area of teeth and the left part is filled with composite. The advantage of undergoing crowing is that it is durable and long lasting. Most importantly, consultation of doctor is must before choosing filling or crown dental treatment.
