Lost teeth in the upper and/or lower arch of the mouth? A locator-retained overdenture with dental implants is just the treatment you need. The procedure is fairly simple, but requires multiple sittings with the dentist. The treatment involves placement of prosthesis in the mouth that contains replacement teeth, mounted in a base made of pink resin. The resin serves the purpose of creating an exact fit over your existing gums. The implant creates a solid foundation on which the denture can fit. The entire process involves the dentist taking impression of the area and designing a temporary denture. While the implant is fixed, healing is monitored during the future visits to the dentist to make sure that the permanent implant is placed only when complete healing as taken place.Once the implant has fully healed, the dentist will take impressions with the locator abutments attached to create the final overdenture. As soon as the implant is healed, the overdenture is placed with locator attachments and you are good to go!
