If you wear a denture, but still looking for something that could improve your functionality and stability, then a locator retained overdenture with dental implants is just the solution you have been looking for!
The procedure is simple, and requires you to visit a dentist multiple times. To begin with the dentist is going to convert your denture utilizing implants to provide a solid foundation for the denture teeth and preserve the underlying bone. During the first step in this process, the dentist is going to take an impression of the edentulous area. A series of diagnostic images is also taken to plan out the placement of the implants. At the same time, the implant area is prepared. Once prepared, the implants are placed using special healing caps.
The implant is monitored to check healing process, before the next phase of treatment begins. During this phase, the dentistis going to place the locator abutments and attachments on the implant and create space inside the existing denture. The space is then filled with resin, and then the denture is set onto the locators thatpick up the attachment pieces. A special curing light is used to harden the resin to secure the locator attachments to your denture. Final adjustments are made, if required, and you are all set with a new set of locator attachments and dental implants!
